From The Top Of The Hardknot Pass ....
A view from the top of the Hardknott pass , the steepest road in England !
My little Vectra chugged its way up there once again , was a bit dodgy this time up there with the amount of surface water on the road !
Decided this time to stop at a few places and take a few shots , this is from just passed the summit looking down the valley towards the wrynrose pass , Yes you think you have made it over this one then theres another lol .
as you can see by the picture the weather wasnt so great , but i liked the way the sun was catching the top of this rock . i took two shots here , both the same just with different light as the sun moved across the ground , the other is below ???

And another !!
Via Flickr:
Another tree from around Crummock water ,
i think i have become obsessed with trees lol .
This is last one i promise ....... well till my next trip :)
I have posted a similar image of this tree ,But this was shot with slide film the other was print film .
I liked the shape of the branches on this tree , i noticed on my last trip to the lakes that a considerable amount of trees have suffered some kind of storm damage . Either broken or completely blown down :(
I have noticed the same on my last few trips to Wales also , A result of a changing climate i guess ???

I`v not been out much lately due to work and rain , hoping to get out tomorrow ( or today i should say )but the weather is forecast rain again :(
So i have been mooching through my archives , This was a shot i took last year on a trip to Scotland , I had hope to go back last month but .... yes the weather was crappy again !
Sometimes i wonder if i have my very own crap weather system that follows me round lol ,
This is a 3 Raw Hdr, shot on yet another rainy day !! its a bit noisy at full size , think after shooting my Mamiya my 40d needs an upgrade to something with a few more pixels !!
Hope everyone had a good Easter :)

Via Flickr:
A trip to the lake district wouldn`t be complete without at least one jetty shot :)
this one is at the far end of Ullswater (or it could be the near end i guess depending on where you had come from !) its at the Glenridding end anyway !
it is hard this time of year to find one that doesn`t have some one doing some kind of water activity from or on it !
This one is within the grounds of a hotel called "The Inn On The Lake" it did say for patrons only but i went in anyway :)
There was a few nice subjects to photograph, this jetty was the obvious one but i also got a few bench shots :) i`ll post those another time :)

A shot from my recent Trip to the Lake District , Had mixed weather when i was there .
Was mostly rain mixed with low cloud :(
Not ideal conditions for photography really , but the sun did show up a few times :)
Fractured...
Via Flickr:
I decided to spend one morning looking around a small wood close to Buttermere .
Was hoping for some warm early morning light lighting up the greens and picking out the textures in the wood , Lukily the sun came out , although it might of been a bit harsher than id wanted i couldnt complain really after all the low cloud and rain id had !
There was lots to shoot in the woods , But seen as i was shooting film i chose my shots carefully . I liked the way the light was just lighting the fractured part of the branch that was laying on the floor :)

Crazy Paving .....
Via Flickr:
My last shot from my trip to Talacre, i know iv posted loads lol , but was pleased with the results i got from my Mamiya that day :)
Starting to really enjoy film now , i have a few weeks off work , so tomorrow im heading up to the lake district , i have 15 rolls of various 120 film to shoot , And no doubt i will shoot a few with my 40d too ;-)
I will be probably be away till next week , or at least when i get fed up of bad weather or sleeping in my car lol :)
I had hoped to go up to Scotland and stay around the isle of skye , but the weather lately seems a bit hit and miss to make a 450 mile drive :(
i will leave that till later in the year :)
so i will catch up with your streams when i get back :)
This shot didn't seem as colourful as the others i shot with the Velvia 50 , so i thought it would make a good mono convert , something i love but don't do very often , but kind of liked this one , let me know what you think ??
I did think about colour popping the lighthouse but thought it was best left all mono .....

I always try to not compose a central focal point , i do try to keep to the rule of thirds , but sometimes i think its ok not to stick to those rules ?

After scanning my negs i think iv leant a bit on how the Mamiya works, a few shots are ok but would have been better if i could of exposed them longer than the 4 seconds it exposes for on its own meter , anything over 4 seconds needs to be manual and in bulb mode , think i need to add a light meter to my wish list ;-)
