Iv been out and shot a few rolls of film , but have to wait till they get developed , so iv been mooching thro my archives . i quite liked this one taken in Anglesey somewhere along the east coast i think , maybe Rhosneigr ??

Something i noticed when cleaning thie image was the tiny black dot in the sea is a seal :) i didnt see it when i was there taking the shot lol :)

From my recent trip to the Fairy Glen near Betws-y-coed in Wales .
I wanted to show the light that shines through the gorge in this shot , so i shot it with a B+W110 filter for around a hundred seconds letting the warm light slowly creep through the gorge :)

Got an 85mm today , only got chance to try it tonight at work , its a bit dingy in there , lit by artificial light , was a bit dissapointed at first as it seemed quite slow , but i set it to f/1.8 and iso 800 and was quite pleased with the low light hand held shots i got :)
Cant wait to try it in good light :)

Had a meet up with Howie mudge this weekend , he lives near my parents in wales . it was really good to see some of the stunning water falls around the area . this is Arthog falls , its only up the road from were they live , i have passed it hundreds of times and never even knew it was there , Saturday was quite a hard day for photography , rained most of the day and the light was pretty poor , good tho for water fall shots :)
as the light was poor most of the shots i took produced a nice sikyness to the water , no filters required :)
Arthog falls is really nice , lots of small cascades running through lush woodland . theres a bit of a scramble to get to the top fall , the rocks are like walking on ice , not for the faint hearted lol , my lad will tell you as he watched my slip on my arse on the fall lol , he said all he could see was me laying on the rocks with my camera and tripod in the air , well ya got to protect your gear haven`t you :)
Quite hard to get all of this in as the fall continues behind you ,So this is two shots stitched both at 10mm.

i think i will defiantly go back here a few times , ice would be awesome Howie :)

Had another quick trip to New Brighton tonight , With weather reports of extremely strong winds i thought i may get some shots of the waves crashing against the lighthouse .
But the tide was out :(
the wind was mental strong !! probably the worsed conditions iv ever shot in lol , my camera was blowing about so much most of my shots were blurred :(
and when i was taking the pic i was constantly sand blasted !!
all good fun :)

Iv got into prime lenses lately , kind of given me a new perspective with landscapes ..... will still use my 10-20 mostly i think , but a wide lens isnt always the best i have found??
i have now got two sigma 24mm`s one is an eos fit auto focus model , but on my 40d i can only use it at f/2/8 , this shot was with it , not ideal to shoot a landscape at 2.8 but it give me more depth maybe ??
the other 24mm is and older FD fit manual focus model which i can use at any aperture as it has an ap ring on the lens :) I have to use an adaptor , this slightly changes the focal length so its probably equivalent to around 30mm , will be able to use it also on my AE1 , but this will be full frame 24mm :) So two lenses in one lol :)

Went here with a particular shot in mind , had seen David Noton`s shot and wanted to get something similar , but after heavy rain and on a windy wet day , it just wasnt how i wanted it , there water was way to high , most of the rocks that create the small falls in the gorge are submerged here , and instead of a slow peaceful looking place the water was nearer to a torrent lol ,
i took and posted a long exposure shot , but the wind had blurred the trees a little too much for my liking , so i had two shots the same , one slow the other fast , so iv blended the two to give me something a bit closer to what i was after )
will return here once the water drops :)
One blended from two , A long one for the water and a quicker one to keep the trees still :)
